Track Construction
‘Trust First’ = ‘Customers First’ = ‘Safety First’ x ‘Technology First’
As a company specializing in railway tracks, we continuously devote ourselves to being the best in the world with our motto of ‘Trust First’ = ‘Customers First’ = ‘Safety First’ x ‘Technology First’ and have managed projects including the installment of new track on the Keihan Nakanoshima and Hanshin Namba Lines.
Not only do we handle construction for new railway lines, we also carry out track improvement, maintenance and repair. We work with ladder tracks, slab tracks, solid-bed tracks with resilient ties and more. Along with the construction of labor-saving tracks, we also engineer street running projects that conform to the surrounding landscape.
Track construction details
- New line construction
In areas not yet accessible by train, we lay down thousands of sleepers one by one and carefully set each rail for kilometers on end to achieve tracks that conform to the blueprints within 1mm.
- Renewal construction
During the limited time available between the day’s last and first trains, we manually transfer existing track onto new lines. We pride ourselves on our record of past achievements and extensive experience.
- Turnout exchange
Whether bringing in and exchanging a multi-ton turnout in whole or replacing each tie and rail one by one, we employ the best methods and machinery based on actual site conditions.
- Repairs
Whether night or day, in extreme heat or cold, we carry out thorough maintenance to ensure safe train operation. While it is straightforward work, we make sure to perform all standard maintenance procedures.
- Street running
With street running projects such as LRT gaining increasing attention, we are proud to offer an original method of construction for routing railway tracks on public streets.
- Harbor-related rail replacement
Kiyota carries out installation, maintenance and repair for the special tracks that support the large gantry cranes used in the unloading of shipping containers.t
Kiyota’s main types of labor-saving tracks
- -Slab Tracks-
Tracks with Resilient Sleepers- Formed by mounting anti-vibration devices to sleepers, linking the track panels and casting the concrete in place. This achieves the labor-saving on maintenance of slab tracks and noise reduction of track ballast.
- -Solid-bed Tracks with Resilient Sleepers-
Formed by mounting anti-vibration devices to sleepers, linking the track panels and casting the concrete in place. This achieves the labor-saving on maintenance of slab tracks and noise reduction of track ballast.
- -Ladder Tracks-
Formed by laying sleepers in a ladder-shaped pattern on longitudinal precast concrete supports held in place by tubular steel joints.
